New Macbook Lines

Okay, today is october the 14th, which is when apple announced another keynote, this time for the computer range. During which, Steve released a new macbook, a new macbook pro, an upgraded macbook air, and a new cinema display. And they all look absolutely amazing.

First I’ll start with the macbook. Its being priced from AUD$2099 with the same 13″ screen, and in 2.0GHz and 2.4GHz models. Customizable with up to 320GB hard drive, or a 128Gb solid state (the same in the macbook air), and yes you guessed it… NVIDIA graphics cards as standard, and also 2GB standard ram, but is customizable up to 4GB. I think I know what my christmas present will be :D

I’ll attach a few photos and the link to the apple website for each product, so you can druel.

Oh and, you can still get the white macbook for $1649, if you don’t want to pay the extra $450 for the new one.

Now onto the macbook pro.

The pricing for the new macbook pro starts at $3199, and is currently only available in the 15″ display. There are 2.4GHz and 2.53GHz models, with the 2.4GHz giving you a 250GB hard drive, and 2GB of ram and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 256MB. The 2.53GHz model gives you 4GB of ram, a 320GB hard drive or a customizable 128GB solid state drive as with all the new range macbooks and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB. The general design is the same as the 13″ macbook, obviously just larger.

Both the macbook and macbook pro have LED – backlit displays, NVIDIA graphics cards, a multi touch track pad (seen in the macbook air and the old macbook pros) and they are both made out of one solid piece of aluminum (obviously this is just the base of the computers, as the displays are made out of glass like the current imac)

Now to talk about the macbook air.

Not much has changed in the air, except that the graphics cards have been replaced with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, a faster processor (upto 1.86GHz) a larger drive, with the option of a 120GB hard drive (as used in the new iPod classic) or a 128GB solid state drive.

The thing that I was most shocked about the email that I recieved from apple, was that there was a new 24″‘ cinema display, looking much like the iMac, well very much like the iMac. Including an iSight and inbuilt speakers that are able to connect up with your macbook, or you mac pro, or your mac mini. As with the new macbook’s displays they are LED backlit. There is a one in three cable that will ship, including a power source, a USB connector cable and a video cable. They are priced from AUD$1499 (as are all prices in this post, yes I am Australian)
